A southern Georgia man named Ronnie "Jay" Adrian Towns, 28, was charged Tuesday, January 26, with murder in the death of a couple who went missing after contacting him on about a Craigslist add of a 1966 Mustang. The victims Elrey "Bud" Runion, 69, and his wife, June, 66 were shot in the head, and their bodies were found Monday, January 26, in woods in rural Telfair County. They had driven three and a half hours from Atlanta just to find themselves in an ambush. On Monday, January 27, Towns turned himself in, however the suspects father claimed his son was innocent. Nonetheless, the disappearance of missing Georgia couple is not the first alleged crime to be linked to the famous Craigslist.

What happened to this couple was a tragedy. No one should endure their pain and the suffering of their family and friends. However, in my opinion people should not go on a test drive without knowing who they are dealing with. We are in a world that anything is possible. People need to watch out and need to be aware of their surrounding. Nothing justifies what Mr. Towns did to the Runion’s. Despite what happened, Craigslist have an outstanding number of crimes. People should be aware of what they are doing and the consequence that may come with it. Unfortunately we can’t being the Runion’s back, but we can learn a lesson from this tragic event.
